Bust Yo Scraps Quilt Along – Progress and Prizes

Today’s blog post comes to you from Panera where I sit with a full belly and an iced coffee.

Bust Yo Scraps!

Bust Yo Scraps! Are you still busting??
I’d like to show off some of the awesome photos I’ve been drooling over in the Flickr group:

1. Anna’s QAL top!!!, 2. Bust Yo Scraps Quilt Top, 3. Completed Quilt, 4. 067, 5. First finish of 2012!, 6. Bust Yo Scraps QAL, 7. DSCN2933, 8. Bust yo scraps, 9. bust yo scraps

I’m seriously blown away at how cool these quilts are. I love the variation in each one, the different backgrounds and color schemes. Better than I had even drawn up in EQ7 for sure! I can’t wait to see more finished 😀 and, finish my own! Sewing time is scarce these days. I’ve been diligently working on getting PinkCastleFabrics.com up and running. It’s up, and running! But, not perfect. So, if you see a bug or glitch on the site please let me know and I will add it to the list of things to fix. 🙂

I realized that I never told anyone when the deadline for the Quilt Along is…oops! It’s the end of March. I want to make sure everyone has enough time to get a quilt completed. AND it matches up with Rachel from Stitched in Color’s Scrap Attack Quilt Along. You can enter your finished quilt in both Quilt Alongs for double the chance for a prize 😉

Prizes?? Yes, everyone who finishes a quilt is a winner (you win a finished quilt! and satisfaction and quilty Internet fame…) but 3 of you will be extra winners! On March 31st I will have a Link-Up post for you to link up a photo and your blog (if you don’t have a blog and you finish, that’s okay I will have a place for you to let me know to add you in!) and I will randomly draw 3 winners. 1 first place winner will get a $50 Gift Certificate for Pink Castle Fabrics and 2 Runner Ups will get $35 Gift Certificates to Pink Castle Fabrics. You got rid of some scraps so you deserve some shiny new fabric, right? (to turn into scraps…. 😀 )

Please let me know if there are questions along the way and I will be happy to answer them! And don’t forget to chain piece to save yourself some time. I’ve seen a top come together in one day with chain piecing.

SALE note! I’m having a one day Precuts SALE to make some room in my shop!!!

I started strong, but somewhere along the line, I’ve lost focus – making e reader covers, camera bags, aprons, knitting (so much to do and I have to fit work in too!) Time to finish up, I have everything cut and half the squares made. Focus, focus, focus:)

  4. Fiona says:

Its great seeing how different these all look; can’t wait to see some more finished quilts x

I took mine with me on vacation at my Mom’s house but too much visiting occurred and 0 sewing on the machine! Guess I better get busy – I do love a deadline, it will keep me on track! Thanks for adding my “not finished” quilt to the bunch above. 🙂
